Enjoy a spot of hiking in the popular Oze Marshland in Oze National Park, just a couple of hours from Tokyo! Recommended for nature lovers! Facts about Oze Marshland - Located in Oze National Park which covers the prefectures of Fukushima, Gunma, Niigata and Tochigi. - 1,400m above sea level. - Home to some unique plants like the skunk cabbage (mid May) and the yellow alpine lily or broad dwarf day lily (mid July). The landscape turns into beautiful colors in the autumn too (October). - You can walk around most of the marshland on the wooden boardwalks, where the altitude difference is about 260m, making it easy to move around. [The best time to see alpine flowers (average year)] late May～early June・・・skunk cabbage mid to late July・・・broad dwarf day lily (nikko kisuge) A maitake mushroom bento is served. *This can be changed to a onigiri rice ball. Similarly, if the roads around the National Park are busy, then we may have to alter the itinerary. *Please make sure not to litter and take any garbage back with you. *Peak flower viewing period could be slightly before/after the tour day depending on the weather/climate. Message to visitors from the Oze Marshland Protection Board We are blessed to have Oze Marshland look beautiful all year round and we are always monitoring the impact of having many visitors coming to the park. In order to protect the marshland for the next generation, we ask visitors to follow a set of rules when inside the park. Thank you for your co-operation. Rules 1. Please use the wooden boardwalks and hiking trails. Do not enter and stand on the actual wetlands. 2. Please stay on the right hand side of the wooden boardwalk paths. 3. Please do not pick flowers or even pick up fallen branches. 4. Take home your garbage and pick up any garbage you may notice. 5. If you smoke, please us a portable ashtray. Don't flick the ash onto the wetlands. [Attention] *Wearing clothes and shoes that let you move easily and comfortably is strongly recommended. *This tour is operated with a mixture of Japanese and foreign guests. However a staff member will give you the basic information, such as meeting place and time at each stop in English or Chinese, although they won’t give you detailed information on the places visited. *We will not be responsible for any delays, shortenings or omissions made to the itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control (traffic, weather etc.) *A decision on whether to cancel the tour will be decided by 3pm Japan Standard Time one day before the tour date. We will inform you by e-mail. *The tour end point may be different from the meeting point. Ask the tour conductor on the day. *The amended Act on the Protection of Personal Information came into effect on 30 May 2017. Customer information (name, age, gender etc.) may be forwarded to the hotels or necessary entities for the purpose of making tour arrangements. This condition shall be deemed to have been accepted by the customer upon completion of the reservation.

A tour conductor or staff of your preferred language will accompany the tour from the designated meeting place (at a designated airport in case of a tour with airplanes) and provides the participant with basic information necessary for the tour (such as meeting place and time at each stop etc) in your preferred language. Information on sightseeing in the areas of tour destinations will not be provided. However, brochures in your preferred language will be provided.
