A 7 day tour of Kyoto, the beautiful ancient city and former capital of Japan! Day 1: We will let you know how to enjoy and explore Kyoto as well as provide a bento lunchbox from a shop contained in a Machiya, a traditional wooden townhouse. Day 3 or 4 (or Day 7 for trips in October): We will visit the following events: ・14 July: Mae Matsuri, Gion Festival ・21 July: Ato Matsuri, Gion Festival ・August: Gozan Okuribi Ritual Fires (Day 3) ・October: Jidai Matsuri Festival (Day 7) Day 6: Enjoy a breakfast rice porridge at the traditional Kyoto restaurant, Hyotei. Following that, board a bus for a tour of the famous temples in the northern part of the city. Visit Mt. Hiei and the Ohara area. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Additional Information] Accommodation Mitsui Garden Hotel Shinmachi Bettei *Approx 7 minutes’ walk from Exit 22 of Karasuma Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line *Rooms are Western style moderate twin rooms (27 square meters). You will stay in the same rooms for six days. These are windowless rooms as they do not face the streets. *There is a restaurant on the first floor called IZAMA. If you wish to dine here, please make reservations at the reception yourselves and pay for the meal(s). *Free Wi-fi available *There is a large public bath on the first floor open from 15:00~01:00 / 06:00~09:00. Please use the towels provided in your rooms. *There are vending and ice machines on the second to fourth floors. *Coin laundry on the fifth floor (coins required) [Attention] *Babies and infants (0-5) cannot participate on this course *Seat allocations for Shinkansen: Due to the seating layout and reservation situation, even if you booked the tour as a group or a pair, your seats may not be next to or close to each other. *The order of the itinerary is subject to change. *This tour is operated with a mix of Japanese and foreign passengers. *For days involving visits to attractions, an interpreter will accompany the trips [Day 1 (Kyoto station~hotel); Day 4 (All day, except for October); Day 6 (all day): Day 6 and 7 for October departures] *When the tour uses taxis, you will have to share them with other tour participants. *We will not be responsible for any delays, shortenings or omissions made to the itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control (traffic, weather etc.) *A decision on whether to cancel the tour will be decided by 3pm Japan Standard Time one day before the tour date. We will inform you by e-mail. *The tour end point may be different from the meeting point. Ask the tour conductor on the day. *The amended Act on the Protection of Personal Information came into effect on 30 May 2017. Customer information (name, age, gender etc.) may be forwarded to the hotels or necessary entities for the purpose of making tour arrangements. This condition shall be deemed to have been accepted by the customer upon completion of the reservation.

Language Support

A tour conductor or staff of your preferred language will accompany the tour from the designated meeting place (at a designated airport in case of a tour with airplanes) and provides the participant with basic information necessary for the tour (such as meeting place and time at each stop etc) in your preferred language. Information on sightseeing in the areas of tour destinations will not be provided. However, brochures in your preferred language will be provided.
