From 20 May 2020, for the Tokaido, San'yo, Kyushu shinkansen rides between Tokyo and Kyushu, passengers are required to make an advanced reservation for the oversized baggage with overall dimensions of more than 160cm. Therefore, if you are planning to join the tour with the oversized baggage, please inform us no later than 45 days prior the departure date. If you book a tour within 44 days to the departure, there is a possibility that we will not be able to reserve a space in an oversized baggage area. Please consider reducing your luggage. If you bring oversized luggage on the tour day without making a reservation in advance, you will need to pay an additional fee JPY 1,000 (tax included) to pay on the train if space is available. If there is no space to store your luggage, you will not be able to ride the train and participate in the tour. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- A 3 day tour exploring the Tango Peninsula known as 'Kyoto by the Sea'. Look forward to 15 seaside attractions and explore the beautiful nature of Kyoto prefecture. Stay overnight at Kinosaki Onsen on Day 2, one of the best hot spring areas in the Kansai region! A. Visit 15 attractions on the Tango Peninsula ① Mikata Five Lakes Rainbow Line: Enjoy a scenic drive. ② Kyoto Tango Railway: Ride a local train that runs by the sea. The Yuragawa railway bridge is a particular highlight. ③ Amanohashidate Sesshu Lookout Point: View Miyazu Bay. ④ & ⑤ Ine no Funaya boathouses: Registered as Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings. After viewing the houses from a boat, enter an actual boathouse (local guide included.) Stroll around the quaint town of Ine. ⑥ Kyoga Misaki: The northernmost cape at the tip of the Tango Peninsula. ⑦ Tango Matsushima: Named after the actual Matsushima in Miyagi prefecture, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan (along with Amanohashidate, which this tour visits.) ⑧ Onaru Ancient Tomb: View the Sea of Japan ⑨ Tateiwa Rock: See the 20m high rock that looks like its floating in the sea when the tide comes in. ⑩ Kotohiki Beach: A beach famous for the 'singing sands' that makes a squeaking noise as you walk. ⑪ Genbudo Cave: Visit the basalt cave, designated as a national natural monument since 1931. ⑫ Konotori no Sato Park: Encounter oriental storks ⑬ Yosano: Stroll down a traditional road that tells the history of the area's textile industry. There is a separate tour conductor that speaks English or Chinese, however they do not translate what the sightseeing guide is saying. *Seat allocations for Shinkansen: Due to the seating layout and reservation situation, even if you booked the tour as a group or a pair, your seats may not be next to or close to each other. Furthermore, although we will try to place everyone in a non-smoking carriage, there is a chance that you may have to sit in a smoking carriage. Kinosaki Onsen, Day 2 *Since most hotels in the area have a limited number of rooms, we will be using numerous hotels for this tour. Many hotels have basic facilities and may not come equipped with elevators, lavatories or bathrooms. *Since outdoor bathing is the main activity, indoor baths are rather on the small scale. *We will be allocating the rooms. Rooms will not all be uniform in size or layout. Kyoto Tango Railway *Seat are non-reserved so yo may not be able to sit down (journey is 20 mins) Other *For the smooth operation of the group tour, we are responsible for allocating the seating for the transportation (bus, trains etc.) used during the tour and at facilities where seats are designated. *We will not be responsible for any delays, shortenings or omissions made to the itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control (traffic, weather etc.) *A decision on whether to cancel the tour will be decided by 3pm Japan Standard Time one day before the tour date. We will inform you by e-mail. *The tour end point may be different from the meeting point. Ask the tour conductor on the day. *The amended Act on the Protection of Personal Information came into effect on 30 May 2017. Customer information (name, age, gender etc.) may be forwarded to the hotels or necessary entities for the purpose of making tour arrangements. A tour conductor or staff of your preferred language will accompany the tour from the designated meeting place (at a designated airport in case of a tour with airplanes) and provides the participant with basic information necessary for the tour (such as meeting place and time at each stop etc) in your preferred language. Information on sightseeing in the areas of tour destinations will not be provided. However, brochures in your preferred language will be provided.
