It is a wooden suspension bridge located at the centre of Kamikochi in a five-minute walk from Kamikochi’s coach terminal. The view of Hotaka Mountains, Mt Yake, the River Azusa, and willows from the bridge is stunningly beautiful. Taisho Pond… A pond that suddenly appeared on the morning of June 6, 1915 after eruption occurred at Mt. Yake. A large amount of mudflow ran down damaging the River Azusa and the submerged forest created a mysterious landscape. Recommended outfit: There are a lot of unpaved footpaths so a decent pair of walking shoes is recommended such as trekking shoes or sneakers. It is also wise to wear comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dirty as you are likely to be doing a lot of outdoor activities like hiking and sitting by the river. Finally, since temperatures in the mountains can fluctuate quickly, it is wise to bring some warm clothing like a jacket even in the summer to adjust your body temperature.
