Visit the four biggest festivals in the Tohoku (northeastern Japan) region. 1.Aomori Nebuta Festival (Aomori Prefecture): A festival where people's wishes are put on lantern floats. Shouting “Rassera, rassera”, the Haneto nebuta dancers jump and march as huge Nebuta lantern floats parade through the city. The vibrant festival impresses and captivates spectators reaching more than 2 million people a year. 2. Akita Kanto Festival (Akita Prefecture): Breathtaking demonstrations where performers prop 50-kilogram long bamboo poles with arrays of lanterns upright on their palms, foreheads, etc. and show their skills. 3. Sendai Tanabata Festival (Miyagi Prefecture): Gorgeous streamers handcrafted every year for decorating Tanabata bamboos are the charm of this festival. Colorful washi-paper streamers swinging in the breeze provide a wonderful spectacle on a sunny day. Every year, more than 2 million people visits this festival. 4. Yamagata Hanagasa (Yamagata Prefecture): The sounds of the Hanagasa drum, decorated floats and the dancers holding the bamboo hats are gorgeous. [Attention] *Regarding the seats for the festivals At Aomori Nebuta Festival, a folding pipe chairs or a wooden boards on the ground will be prepared. At Akita Kanto Festival, a folding pipe chairs or tiered seats will be prepared. At Hanagasa mat seats will be prepared. We do not accept any requests for seating. *At Aomori Winery Hotel (Day-1), if there are 3 guests booked for one room, an extra bed will be provided in the twin room. If there are 4 guests booked for one room, an extra bed will be provided in the triple room or 2 twin rooms may be used. *The arrival time to the accommodation on Day-1 and 2 will be late at around 23:00. Depending on traffic, we could arrive as late after midnight. *Dinner on Day-2 and 3 will be early around 16:00 before the start of the festivals. *There are no reserved seats on the Gono Line so you may not be able to sit down. Furthermore, the section of the journey ridden may differ from the one planned in the itinerary. Although the train runs along the coast of the Sea of Japan, parts of the journey will be inland. *Seat allocations for trains: Due to the seating layout and reservation situation, even if you booked the tour as a group or a pair, your seats may not be next to or close to each other. *For the smooth operation of the group tour, we are responsible for allocating the seating for the transportation (bus, trains etc.) used during the tour and at facilities where seats are designated. Any requests for train departure time, seat allocation (window, aisle) can not be accepted. *Please wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. *The order of the itinerary is subject to change. *This tour is operated with a mixture of Japanese and foreign guests. However a staff member will give you the basic information, such as meeting place and time at each stop in English or Chinese, although they won’t give you detailed information on the places visited. *A Japanese-speaking guide is included. Although the tour conductor can speak English or Chinese, they are not an interpreter for the guide. *We will not be responsible for any delays, shortenings or omissions made to the itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control (traffic, weather etc.) *A decision on whether to cancel the tour will be decided by 3pm Japan Standard Time one day before the tour date. We will inform you by e-mail. *The tour end point may be different from the meeting point. Ask the tour conductor on the day. *The amended Act on the Protection of Personal Information came into effect on 30 May 2017. Customer information (name, age, gender etc.) may be forwarded to the hotels or necessary entities for the purpose of making tour arrangements.
